2021 was a pivotal year.

I ✌🏾to a toxic job. On my last day, I received notification that I was a ✨ @georgiatrend #40Under40 honoree. ✨

I knew I would be alright. I took a month off from working, went to my mama’s house, and manifested my goals.

Within six weeks, I secured a teaching job, an assistantship, and marketing contracts. 🙌🏾

I continue to go where God leads me. If it doesn’t feel good in my spirit … ✌🏾

Anytime I can learn from @nicolecarr, trust that I will be completely locked in. I've sat in on sessions at @nabj and @gsucommdept as she provided insight about her journalism career and role as a faculty member at @morehouse1867. This time, I was there to support her new book: "The Price of Exclusion." I attended a book launch hosted by @thejoybuilder at @atlgathers. It was such a joy to hear about her inspiration for the book: Dr. Lawrence St. Clair Ferguson, her great-grandfather. @themodeldoc opened the event with remarks from Nicole's amazing parents and children, and @emarvelous led the conversation and Q&A on Professor Carr's important work about the ever-present power of Black excellence through the historical context of Black doctors and systemic oppression in the United States.

I was at a conference earlier this year, and I confronted the speaker about his extremely narrow-minded perspective about oppression in America particular to race and gender. One of his gaffes: People shouldn't choose a doctor based on their "skin color" ...

This is why "The Price of Exclusion" is very necessary. Knowledge is power, and ignorance can be deadly. Get educated and get your copy.

Listen, don’t be the person in the group project who lets EVERYONE down by not doing your part.

It’s pretty obvious who is running for office to CONTINUE serving the people and others who have billions of dollars to make racist commercials, say women need to prove r🍇 (Google it), and need an ego boost because they are on a massive power trip.

Vote blue, y’all. It’s the only way.
